But it's great that you got it working OK.

Tim

RE: registering team copies

Thanks Tim. I posted the original message on this not realizing I was logged on as my colleague.

We completed the online update but still received an error message. However, I have now managed to get the team copy registered. I edited the team members profile to set their password to my own, which I knew was acceptable. The registration process then worked.

I know from when I registered my original copy that the registration process is quite strict about what passwords it deems to be secure and therefore acceptable, I had to make quite a few attempts to find one even though I followed the guidelines about the number of characters, CAPS etc. Our problem arose because the page where the team members profiles are entered is not strict about the password and anything can be entered. The registration page and the profile passwords had to match but the registration page wouldn't accept the password I had set.

Could I suggest that the programme is amended so that only acceptable passwords can be entered on the team member profile page, in the same way as the registration page. It would save some hassle.

Thanks.

Janet

RE: registering team copies

Judith

That sounds odd. A couple of questions if I may.

First, are the VL Live installations up-to-date? You can use online update even without registration; just click OK when it asks for a username and password. Then retry registration.

Second, and preferably after updating the software, what is the exact message you get when trying to register? Does the message it appear in the small "code" box, or is it a dialog?

Thanks

Tim

registering team copies

I have successfully registered my copy of VL Live, upgraded to a team subscription and set up two team users with their personal licence codes. In doing that I had to enter their personal information and give them a password which was 3 capital letters followed by 4 numbers. Their username name and password was accepted and can be used successfully on the website.

They successfully loaded the software from the CD but have problems registering it. On the registration page they have entered their username and password as described above, for serial nr they have included their personal licence nr, for Team serial nr they have included the shared serial nr from the original CD box, they have left the KEY blank. When they click register now it says the password is not valid.

I have tried changing the password and although it works on the website with their username it still doesn't work on the registration page.

What do we do now to register their copies?
