| I have been unable to save to the planner a dated service of Morning Prayer BCP. The button save as a planned service for future use will not switch on and despite having options of place and time in the system, none appear in the drop down box. I did not experience this difficulty with VL4 and using the smart template for Morning Prayer Common worship has been successful. Where am I going wrong please?

Pamela
Just to clarify, when selecting a service template to open in VL you are firstly asked to select a date from the date dialogue box. The service will then load and to save a service with a particular date and time you need to click on 'File' and 'Save' from the menu bar.
At this point you will be presented with two options to save the service:
1. as a service template for future use (this is a date-less service which you can re-use as you wish)
2. as a planned service with a date (the date you selected when you opened the service template will be in the grey box)
All date-dependent services will be saved to the 'Open Service' tab on the welcome screen.
If the services are still not appearing within your planner once you have saved them as date dependent, make sure the time period for the planner is set to cover the right amount of time for your service planning. Click on 'Planner' and 'select period' to change this.
Please let me know if you further problems.
Kind Regards
Imogen Levy

Thanks Imogen,
I have tried what you suggested. But it seems it is only Morning Prayer from the BCP and Evening Prayer from BCP which I cannot save. As we hold a fair number of Prayer Book services this is fairly frustrating.
I have noticed that when I create a new service from either of these that the "This is an undated service" box appears ticked. Switching this off makes no difference when it comes to the saving process - it still will not save.

I seem to have reached a solution.
1.Loaded a previous BCP service created from my VL4 and imported into planner
2.Saved it as a new Template calling it "Evening Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer 2" and closing down service
3.Opened the home page and under all services found the new template.
4.Created new service using new template and saved as new service (this template did not have the dated service box ticked)
5. Carried on as normal.
Not sure if I should have needed to do this but it worked.
Many thanks
Pamela
