Church House Publishing has just released a new content update for Visual Liturgy Live, featuring the dramatised passion narratives which were published in print as Proclaiming the Passion (CHP, 2007).

This is an official Common Worship publication, and includes dramatisations of the passion narratives from all four gospels. The texts used are designed to supplement the liturgical material published in Common Worship: Times and Seasons, and they follow the anglicised version of the New Revised Standard Version of the Bible.

The versions from the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke are featured in the lectionary provision for Palm Sunday in years A, B and C respectively. The dramatisation of John’s passion narrative is set for Good Friday. Our electronic publication of this material as resources for Visual Liturgy users offers all four dramatisations as individual liturgical items, together with a gospel acclamation and a useful introduction to making effective use of them in liturgy.

Visual Liturgy users with an active subscription can download this material by using the Online Update feature of Visual Liturgy Live. There are lots of helpful hints on how to use this and other seasonal material in the VL Live forums.

Andrew,

Can you direct me on how to find these new items?

I ran the update, which seemed to work correctly and imported a number of new items. But I can't find the dramatised readings you refer to. I've used the browser to search on "dramatised" or "passion" or even on "Mark" but cannot find them anywhere.

Thanks

Dear David,

You should be able to find the Proclaiming the Passion items in a number of ways:

We have coded them as PTP (Proclaiming the Passion), so you can search for that code in the browser.
We've created a service template (the kind of service that VL calls a Resource Template); It's called Proclaiming the Passion and you should see it at the bottom of the list of services on VL's home page.

There is a screen-shot  attached  to this post which shows VL with the service template at the bottom left, and the browser open with the search results of a search for "PTP." Screen-shots in this forum open within your browser, and you should see a magnifying glass zoom tool when you're viewing.

You should also be able to find these items in the browser by searching for "the passion of our Lord" or just "passion."

If these don't work for you, or if the service isn't visible, then please let us know.
