My old XP{ system has problems. A new one is being built and I also have a laptop. I would like to move VL Live on to one of these and avoid a total reinstall or at least minimize the work needed. So can someone who knows what to do e-mail me and or put details in here. At present I am not got time to search out old notes, because I have a work problem which needs my attention.
All / any help welcomed.
John.

| If the old system is still working, you could do this: 1. Run VL on the old system and choose File - Backup. Don't compress the backup. Note its location. 2. Install VL on the new system 3. Use Help - online update to get the system up-to-date. You don't need to register for this. Just click OK to the password dialog. 4. Close VL, and copy the files from your backup to the data folder on the new system. In XP this is usually: C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Visual Liturgy 5 When you copy, make sure that you overwrite the files that are there currently. Don't copy the backup into a sub-folder. Files like vislit.mdb should be at the top level. If the location of files is different on the new system (eg drive letters are different) it may be better not to copy the settings files vlsettings.xml and winsettings.xml. 5. Run VL, and presuming everything is as you want it, you can now re-register. Make sure you use the same username and password as before. Tim

Thanks for that.
Hmm seems fairly straight forward. Only question is whether I can find the password I used. Could be one of two or three.
I need to ponder that one.
