They Shall Grow Not Old: Liturgies for Remembrance is a unique liturgical resource that includes a wide range of greetings, biddings, sentences, opening prayers, confessions, intercessions, litanies, blessings and Bible readings printed in full, so that clergy and chaplains may create customized services of remembrance according to local need.

In addition it includes the full texts of the services of remembrance authorised or commended for use by the Church of England, the Church of Scotland and Churches Together in Britain and Ireland, and a selection of sample services for a variety of pastoral needs:

  • A simple ceremony of remembrance
  • A formal ceremony at a war memorial
  • A service in church for Remembrance Sunday
  • Remembrance within a Eucharistic rite
  • A Veterans’ service
  • A service of prayer for troops in danger
  • A service of prayer for healing and strength.

They Shall Grow Not Old is a valuable resource for us as we come together on occasions to remember those who have died in war and acts of violence and terror. I commend it to all who will lead Ceremonies of Remembrance in these fragile times, and to all who believe that remembering the past has its place in the building of a better future.’ David Conner, Bishop to Her Majesty's Forces (2001-2009)

I had updated it but it isn't showing anywhere.  Also even though my subscription is up to date, according to Vislit Live Online, the online update box is showing 'Subscription Unknown'.  I think a phone call is required

I've not been a regular forum user but have been posting re my problem of being unable to obtain the download for BCP and have started to browse other topics only to realise I have never been able to download the material for Remembrance Sunday either and my situation is exactly the same as the previous post here! Has anybody solved this yet please

I have just upgraded to VLL from VL4. All the updates seem to have installed properly except the Remembrance Services. When I download the Times and Seasons module a message says that it is already up to date. Whether I choose to re-install or not, there is still no Remembrance folder or They Shall Not Grow Old services. When I go to online update again it continues to show Times and Seasons module available for download.

There is no Remembrance folder; but under Times and Seasons there should be a section called All Saints to Advent. Do the services show up there?

I have just updated my subscription and downloaded all updates. I am still described as 'Subscription Unknown' and there is no sign of a 'Remembrance' folder. Times & Seasons has six folders the last of which is 'Easter' - no 'All Saints to Advent'. Nor can I locate BCP.

Sorry to hear about the problems updating.

When you go too online update, do you get prompted for a username and password? Veryify that these are the same as what you use to log onto this site, for example. If they are blank or incorrect you would get the results you are seeing.
