| A number of parishes and organisations have contacted Church House Publishing to ask about the procedure for installing a Visual Liturgy Live upgrade pack. VL Live is designed to upgrade smoothly from Visual Liturgy 4, and if VL 4 is already installed on your chosen computer, you should encounter no difficulties. If you have un-installed VL 4, or, as often seems to be the case, bought a new computer and not installed VL4 on it, then you should re-install VL4 before you insert the CD from your Visual Liturgy Live upgrade pack. | Hi Andrew et al, My wife has VL2.0 and VL3.0, and upgrades VL3.0 and VL4.0 and VLLife. Unfortunately she was never able to go online with VLLife and do any updates??? Between one and two years now. In desperation asked me!!! Dangerous thing to do!!! Anyway today I unstalled through Windows Control panel and reinstalled VL3.0 and upgraded with VL4.0 and VLLife. Good and great and was working thus far but, Surprise when I did an update. She is seriously locked out of the whole VL program with the message: Cannot create a file when that file already exists", period. I've repeated this reloading at least three times today, and we are being locked out everytime we go online for the "update". Is there a problem with the update? Or is there any help available please? (apart from the obvious Do Not Try For Updates). Please ADVISE me. Many Thanks, Joop (joopvandertoorn@vodafoneemail.co.uk)

| Hi Joop, I'm sorry you've had such trouble. We need to fix this short-term problem and then work out why your wife has never been able to update. As far as I'm aware, we've never had this message before - can anyone else share experience of having the same error message as Joop? You've done the right things, uninstalling from Control Panel, and then starting again from VL3. And the update process is working fine. Is there any more information available on-screen or in that error message - a file name, for example? Can you get a screen-shot to me at electronic.publishing@c-of-e.org.uk together with details of your OS (Windows XP? Vista?) and the Paths settings from your copy of VL (go to Edit, Preferences, and click on Paths), Andrew
